This violent, tension filled drama serves up an array of themes. Dedication to duty, authority, support for victims and reveals the police procedures of its time with dysfunctional relationships, abuse begetting abuse, the normalisation of violent behaviour in relationships and society, police corruption and the loss of innocence.
This production stars Iain Fletcher (The Bill) as Sergeant Johnny Johnson, Paul Putner (Little Britain) as Chief Inspector Bill Cartwright, Naomi Sachs as Maureen Johnson and Samuel Clemens as Kenneth Baxter.
