In 1980 Jude Winter, Tash Fairbanks, Jane Boston and Deb Trethewey, previously members of Brighton Bands Devils Dykes and Bright Girls, formed the radical lesbian feminist theatre company, Siren.
The company toured their shows extensively, as well as playing as a new wave band. The band has reformed and are back at the Marlborough Theatre, where they made their debut all those years ago and will be playing tracks from their two albums as well as newly written songs.
The songs reflect lesbian feminist politics as well as other topics of the time such as The Falklands war and the peace movement, and is accompanied by visual images.
For those who are older, come along for a blast of nostalgia and for those who are younger, come and see one of Brighton’s best loved women’s bands, who are still wowing audiences with their perspective in their new topical songs.
