The Marlborough Pub & Theatre and Eyes Wide Open Cinema present CELLULOID PERVERSIONS, a new film night exploring the boundaries of queerness, art, and erotica. For our first event we present:
When We Are Together We Can Be Everywhere (Marit Östberg, 2015)
Liz walks between different rooms of the city. A bar, a toilet, a wasteland, a garden, a trailer. The director is sending her a love letter. The director needs her cruising body. They are a part of each others fantasies and share a dream about a city’s possibility of providing safe sexy spaces.
When We Are Together We Can Be Everywhere is a film with multiple layers. It is a sexy, sweaty hot porn. It is a film about making porn. It’s a film about the relations between the persons behind and in front of the camera. It is a film about friendship and sex. It is a love letter from Marit, the director, to her star, Liz.
Eyes Wide Open Cinema is a queer film series that has been running in Brighton since 2012. Since its inception, Eyes Wide Open has endeavoured to explore the wide breadth of queer cinema and foreground those on the margins of gender and sexuality. Eyes Wide Open are teaming up with the Marlborough for Celluloid Perversions, a new night that explores the boundaries of queerness and erotica through the medium of film. We look forward to bringing you a varied programme that explores sexuality at its most frank with subjects whose sexualities are seldom rendered on screen.
