Witness Theatre presents

Brighton Scratch

  • Wednesday 16 November 7:30pm

The Marlborough Theatre

1 hours 30 mins

Witness Theatre presents their first Scratch night at The Marlborough Theatre. An evening of exciting work in progress performances designed to support artists in the early stages of developing new material.

Three pieces will be presented and the audience will have the chance to chat with the artists and offer feedback after each piece. Come prepared to be surprised, entertained and challenged and maybe find your new favourite theatre makers!

Scratch is a fantastic way of supporting new work, and helping artists develop. This evening is Pay as You Feel for all audience members.

The artists performing on the night are Clown Funeral, Spun Glass Theatre and Eric Sigmundsson.

Jessica Cheetham from Spun Glass Theatre is working on an idea around the desire to have children and the difficulties that arise from this desire as an artist. Clown Funeral are sharing work on their new project ‘Duck Duck Goose’ which is ‘a speculative, sci-fi piece telling the story of three siblings in a world in which people can only view the world through a technologically realised personalised reality’. Eric is using projection, movement and comedy to create a show exploring the impetus to take the phone out and start filming in an extreme situation rather than helping or seeking help.
